About Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust
The Trust’s primary purpose is to provide high-quality care for patients as part of the NHS. We employ over 4000 members of staff, delivering both acute hospital services and community-based services.
About the Trust
In 1948, Tameside General Hospital became part of the newly established National Health Service (NHS). The Trust achieved NHS Foundation Trust status in 2008. Since then, services have continued to develop and expand. In 2016, the Trust became an integrated care provider, working more closely with key partners across the locality to ensure patients receive coordinated and seamless care across health and social care services.
Our Strategy
Our mission is to improve health outcomes for our population and influence the wider determinants of health, through collaboration with the people of Tameside and Glossop and our health and care partners. You can read the Trust’s full strategy: Beyond Patient Care to Population Health.
Our values and behaviours underpin everything we do. From our recruitment policy to the way we communicate with colleagues and patients, our values and behaviours should always be at the centre. Our values and behaviours aren’t just a collection of words, they have meaning – we believe in them and we expect our team to demonstrate them every day.
Our values reflect everything we are. Here you can find out more information about what makes us tick and how we embody our values and behaviours in everything we do.
A visit to our Trust will tell you that we work by a defined set of values and behaviours. These values and behaviours define the organisation that we are, and aspire to be. It is very important that all of our staff sign up to our values and behaviours when they join the Trust, in fact we specifically look for candidates that can demonstrate these values and behaviours to be part of our team.
Equality,Diversity and Inclusion
We believe that healthcare services should respond to the diverse requirements of everyone we serve in Tameside & Glossop and beyond. We are committed to improving the health of our local population and reducing inequalities in healthcare provision.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is the building block for compassionate care. Achieving diversity in our workforce and inclusivity as our ethos is not ‘an optional extra’ but a ‘must have’ for all NHS health and care providers. The quality of patient experience cannot be separated from the quality of staff experience. The inequalities in workforce diversity can also not be divorced from the inequalities of health outcomes.
We believe that the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda is central to everything we do and in building a workforce that is truly representative of the local community that we serve. In turn we believe that in building a truly representative workforce, we will increase the talent pool from which we recruit and build services that are responsive to the needs of the local community.
